My Students

I work with a classroom full of motivated and kind children. They are lively Pre-K scholars living in St. Paul, Minnesota. We are a school with entirely free lunch and breakfast. It is a school that offers unique programming to fit the needs of our population. We are constantly in need of new hands-on materials to help little minds grow.

My urban Pre-K scholars are successful when they share their voice and choice!

I'm hoping to supply my classroom with their needs better.

My Project

Winter in Minnesota is a magical time, full of sparkling snow and fun chilly activities. However, it can also be a time of subzero temperatures and wiggly students trapped inside due to the weather.

To best meet my students' needs I would like to provide them with a stationary bicycle and a trampoline to help them get out their wiggles.

This equipment would allow my young students to get gross motor exercise even on days that we are not able to play outside. Indoor recess is simply not as stimulating and helpful when the children need aerobic exercise.

I am also including a deck of yoga cards in this project as another outlet for any pent up wiggles. We would use them to help the children transition from one indoor activity to another. In addition to the exercise equipment I am including a scissors and paper cutter to have appropriate supplies for myself as I create new posters and materials to use while on the bike or trampoline. For example, I will be creating a poster that has the child jump and count by one, fives, and tens.
