Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What I love about my students is that they are such positive, happy, loving children who understand the value of education and strive to be the best to help raise their families out of poverty. All of my students are from low-income households and with that comes challenges. Sharing small apartments with many family members, babysitting siblings while parents are working two jobs, taking long bus rides to and from school during rush hour traffic, spending hours at laundromats to make sure their uniforms are ready for the next school day are just some examples of what our students do when they are not at school or studying. Our students are busy! Yet, they still find a way to smile and make school their top priority.

My Project

These items will make a difference for my student's learning because they will be warm and hydrated for winter. My students asked specifically for gloves, water bottles and lotion to keep them feeling safe and healthy during these cold months.

The gloves will help our students keep warm while they wait for the school bus and the water bottles will forever be filled with water to keep our students hydrated and healthy.

The hand lotion will help keep my student's skin feeling well cared for during these cold and dry months. I love this project because I'm requesting exactly what the students ask for. I do this during the year and it helps my students feel loved and special. Thank you for your donations.
