Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sixth-grade students at a bilingual school. They are one of the most wonderful group of students I have ever worked with! Most of them walk to and from school or take the train. For many, this means over a mile of walking each way. Many of them do not have warm enough jackets, hats, or glove to stay warm over the course of this walk. Additionally, many of my sixth graders are responsible for walking a younger sibling home in the cold.

My Project

Donors Choose is currently doing a 5X for donations for projects related to warmth and hunger. A lot of my students do not have warm sweatshirts, jackets, hats, and gloves. Most of them walk home, sometimes at great distances.

Your donation will be multiplied by 5 if you donate to this project.

Many of my students wear the same sweatshirt every day and use it as a winter jacket as well. With this project, you will be helping to distribute warmer sweatshirts, jackets, hats, and gloves to kids that need them. Thank you all in advance for your help and support!
