Persistence and determination describe the primary characteristics of our girls' soccer team. Girls' soccer is a highly competitive sport that requires countless hours of training and conditioning. Currently, we have 3 girls' soccer teams, Frosh, JV, and Varsity in desperate need of equipment to maintain and grow the program.
Driven, hardworking, and dedicated are words that describe our girls.
These young women come from a variety of backgrounds that make up their Title I high school. Their strong work ethic, desire to win and endurance are evident at each practice and game. Some of the girls on the team play multiple sports, are bilingual, take AP courses, and are on the Honor Roll.
The school unfortunately does not provide any funds to support the athletic programs, so the families are required to raise money for the equipment, , through fundraising efforts. These dedicated girls are thrilled to be playing soccer and are excited to build the program. Unfortunately, their equipment is old and worn out. Most of the families cannot provide the necessary funds to support the girls' soccer program. Therefore, we are in desperate need of outside contributions.
My Project
All of the girls on our high school soccer team put countless hours and tremendous effort into months of grueling training. In order to be prepared to compete in a rigorous season, the girls need the most basic of soccer equipment, soccer backpacks to transport their cleats, shin guards, jerseys, balls, etc.
Currently the girls have a small, limited number of older “hand-me down” bags that have holes, stains, are torn, and don’t close properly.
These backpacks are designed for a soccer player’s needs. The backpacks are the perfect size, have the capacity to carry extra equipment, and are made of a strong durable material for an ideal construction. By having these backpacks, the two soccer teams will be able to comfortably carry all of their items and have different compartments for each item. These soccer backpacks will make it easy to transport the necessary sporting equipment that is needed for each soccer match.
By having the necessary equipment, the JV and Varsity teams will feel empowered and supported to reach for the championships. Currently the girls feel like the forgotten kids. These donations will be gifts from the "Fairy Godmother", granting Cinderella's wish, and showing the soccer teams that dreams do come true!
