I need tuition for the Kagan Win-Win Discipline Institute, along with admission to WonderWork Science, plus food, transportation, and lodging as allowed. The dates are July 7-12.
I am a first-grade teacher in a wonderful school in Wisconsin. My students are very special, and I just love going to school every day to see the sparkle in their little 5 to 8-year-old eyes. I truly have the most special job in the world and treasure every day with my students! Working well with parents, students, coworkers, and other specialists is an important part of my teaching day. Enjoying reading with my students is my absolute favorite part of being a teacher!
My Project
I am very excited about this professional development opportunity! I am hoping to attend the Kagan Elementary Win-Win Discipline Institute, which takes place July 8-12, 2019, and on this same trip, will explore the areas of my science curriculum that are showcased at WonderWorks Science. This professional development opportunity is one that I have wanted to attend for several years, because I hear amazing things about both opportunities, and they help me to address areas of my teaching that can always be improved upon. The teachers who attend these opportunities learn so much, speak very highly, and are able to bring so many great ideas back to their classrooms!
Teaching little first-graders is something that I absolutely love, and it is so much fun to see my little students' eyes light up with excitement when they learn in a fun and exciting way, using new strategies that I bring back to class!
I am requesting registration, admission, and allowable airfare, food, and hotel during my stay. This opportunity will give me so many new ideas and strategies about how to set up discipline that is fun for me and for my students while sharing wonderful science STEM activities. I will have the opportunity to explore and get creative with various areas of our first-grade curriculum, including flight, outer space, weather, biomes, and habitats in a well-behaved class This should be a wonderful experience sharing, collaborating, and learning with all of the other teachers. Thank you for any help I can get. I learn so much at these conferences, and they really have an impact on my students' learning.
