My Project

Our school has a reading WIN block, (what I need). We start the year with key phonemic awareness lessons based on the Science of Reading. Then, we give students what they need: an opportunity to use their reading skills. So, we move into book clubs, where students with similar reading skills and challenges read, discuss and respond to high quality chapter books.

We hope to ignite a love of reading while fostering our students reading skills with current, engaging chapter books.

The books requested in this project will be shared by the grade level. Students move to different teachers and classrooms based on their needs. They love moving to a new group, and preparing for their "book club." We hope to have a variety of books to sustain this excitement.
