My Project

My elementary school is a Pre-K through 5th grade inner city Title I school serving predominantly Black and Hispanic students. We have converted a large empty classroom into a Mindfulness and Wellness Center - a calming, comfortable, safe place where students can go to relax, refocus and recharge. Many of our students come from difficult communities and households and utilize this space to learn coping, mindfulness, and meditative practices from staff that they will use and benefit from not just during the school year, but throughout their entire lives. I am requesting headphones and paint-by-number kits for the students.
