Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

THS is a small rural school where students come from primarily low-SES households and all students receive free and reduced lunch. THS Wildcats are very hardworking and many are first-generation students. Having a food pantry available to students and families is essential to their learning and success. I want to be able to provide a variety of snacks and foods for my students whenever they are in need and hungry throughout the day as well as to be able to take them home in emergencies. Some students are experiencing situations such as homelessness, and parents losing their jobs.

Many students at THS deal with food insecurities throughout the year and need a safe place to ask for food and snacks.

I am requesting food and snacks such as water, juice, rice, chips, and other non-perishable items to jump-start our food pantry!
