My Students

It is hard to get First graders attention with the same old text books and worksheets. With an interactive smart board (made with a lap top, wii remote, and projector) the students learning will come to life in front of their eyes! They will be able to manipulate their learning!

My First graders are an amazing group of students!

I have 17 students who are all very different and yet so alike! Our class works as a team. My students are very sweet and caring towards each other. They are there for each other when they need help-academically and socially. My students have such eager personalities for learning. It is amazing to go into work to see their smiling faces ready to learn every day!

My Project

Technology is starting to take over the world! 6 and 7 year old's are entering a new realm of life. Being able to take their curriculum to the next level will increase their interest in learning. By using a Wii remote, a lap top, and my projector, I can re-create a Smart Board. This is an interactive white board. I will be able to create lessons that my students will be able to manipulate. The students, for example, will be able to move blocks with their hands to make tens and ones. They can add numbers by touching the white board and moving some animals! Being able to make learning hands on for the students by using technology will keep their interest and peek their curiosity. My students will be having fun and not even realize they are being taught a lesson!!

This project is so important because I want to change the way my students are learning.

I want to make a difference and I want to have children want to learn. Having such an amazing project being implemented in my classroom will encourage students to come to class with the mind set of learning while having fun. If my students get excited about learning at this early age, it will carry with them through their educational careers.
