My Students

My students are a diverse group of kids living in Brooklyn, NY that strive to succeed. They speak many different languages and come from various cultures and countries, some even new to the country just learning the language. This year I will be teaching in an Integrated learning classroom, which means there will be two teachers and half the class will be special education students and the other half are general education students. We will also have many students that are new to the country and just learning English. They all come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, but most come from low-income households. My students range in all levels of learning. My school is a wonderful community of different learners that all work together to do their best. My students are always eager to come to school and learn new things, even in this new world of education. Keeping them safe and educated is my biggest concern.

My Project

Sitting in a seat all day is hard for anyone. With all the new classroom guidelines and restrictions, it is more important now for kids to get out their energy, without walking around the room.

These items help kids stay focused and on task while sitting in their seats.

The wobble cushions help with moving around and posture, the bands help kids move their legs and bounce, all while not getting up. Fidget toys have helped with anxiety and focus, so kids can get through the long day and still be productive and complete all their work without being distracted by others or themselves.
