My Students

My resource classroom is a place for students to build their early academics in a safe and challenging space. My students come into my classroom to find their voice, feel safe, and gain confidence in themselves as well as their academic and social emotional skills.

They come from families with diverse income levels.

My students are witty, bilingual, hardworking, funny, and creative. These are the amazing kindergartners who walk into my classroom every day.

Learning can be difficult for many students who have disabilities. My students come to my classroom working hard to overcome those barriers.

My Project

My students struggle with regulating their bodies, and giving them flexible seating options will help meet their sensory needs so they can learn. As adults, we don't like to sit still, so why should kindergartners be forced to sit still?

My students are able to contribute to the classroom but need an outlet for their extra energy.

I want students to feel successful, and these wiggle seating options will help them to be successful in the classroom.

I would like to share my seating options with general education teachers with whom my students also learn so that my students can find success in my classroom as well as the general education classroom.
