it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 2nd graders are some of the most grateful kids you have ever met. Giving them a new pencil box is like giving them gold. Their faces light up with joy when you hand them a special eraser.
These kids give 110% daily to learn and grow using a language that isn't spoken at home.
Even getting basic school supplies is a struggle. Our Title 1 school provides meals, health care, counseling, and after school programs, but it's hard to get the "other" needed classroom materials. I am the luckiest teacher in the world to teach these at-risk students so please help me to help them.
My Project
Our wiggly students need an active workspace that they can go to in order to focus. With your help, we can get them exercise chair balls to sit on while they are practicing their math skills, doing a group project, or just reading a book. Studies show that exercise balls help students to focus because they can move while they learn. These materials will specifically be in an area of the classroom where students will choose to learn during small group learning time. The area is partially ready already, we just need a couple more items!
