My students need a low-level table with cushion seats to help them work in comfort, while the wobble stools and balls will allow them to work hard no matter how wiggly their bodies are!
My students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Nearly all of our students come from low-income households, and receive free or reduced price lunch. Everyday they enter my classroom with the biggest smiles on their faces, eager to gain more knowledge. We are not just a Kindergarten class - we are a family. They are aware that this is the place they come not just to learn, but a place where they have freedom to express their emotions and to explore their environment.
My Project
My kindergarten students need flexible seating options to keep them comfortable and ensure their success in our classroom. By donating to this project, you will help enhance my students comfort and allow them to work at their highest potential. They love to explore our classroom with their little energetic bodies. I would love to incorporate these wiggles in their learning and meet their sensory needs by transforming our work space, allowing them to work on wobble cushions, balance balls, wobble chairs, beanbag seats, and especially the floor work space bundle. Currently, their only options are their seats or the rug. Children need to be comfortable in a space that they spend their most time in, whether its collaborating with a group in the class or working independently.
