I have a kindergarten classroom full of active and curious learners that love to explore the world around them through their senses. No matter where they are at individually, each student is capable and unique in their abilities and learning styles. I want to foster my students' literacy, mathematics, fine motor skills, global competencies, and more through Donors Choose projects and effective classroom practices.
My students attend a low income school.
I have twenty students this year. They come from various backgrounds and cultures. Each student brings unique experiences and knowledge to our classroom.
My Project
As anyone who has worked with kids knows, kindergarteners are extremely active and wiggly. These flexible seating options will allow them to wiggle and move in appropriate ways while still learning.
Different seating options will help my students release energy and anxiety and improve their learning.
Due to Covid-19, students are not allowed to move around as much this year as in previous years. These seating options will give them some movement within their own space.
Through the extra movement, my students' learning will improve while having fun, safe movement. Students will also be given choices about what seat choice they would like to use each week which will improve their self awareness and self-advocacy for their own needs.
