My Students

My kindergarten students love coming to school every day to learn with their friends. Our Norfolk school is located within walking distance of the Chesapeake Bay. It is a beautiful place to live and learn. Learning is a challenge for some as they lack self control over their ability to sit still.

Students need an effective way to manage their need to move without taking away from the learning process.

Alternative seating is the answer to help my busy kindergarteners focus while learning.

My Project

Children have an innate need to move. Sitting for long periods of time is difficult for all of us let alone young children. In this day of quick paced media content and longer periods of instruction, many students are unable to sit and focus when learning. The need to fidget and move about creates a restless environment and distracts others from learning. Staying within a designated space during carpet time is an impossible task for some.

Balance discs offer the perfect outlet for busy little bodies.

These sensory cushions provide students with a controlled area for movement to keep them engaged and focused. The additional benefit for developing core muscles while learning is a win for my little wigglers! Please help my students wiggle while they learn.
