My students need stability balls for alternative classroom seating. "wiggle while you learn!"

In the upcoming year, I will be teaching in an inclusion second grade classroom at C Elementary. We are located on the west side of Indianapolis and are a part of M.S.D. of Wayne township. Approximately, 80% of our students receive Free and Reduced Lunch, utilize our free food pantry, and are offered services through our social worker and Cummins counseling. Therefore, I would like to follow suite by providing my students with the materials, resources, and accommodations that they need to have a successful second grade year. These materials include alternative seating for the classroom. Many of my students benefit from exercise balls and wiggle cushions to maintain focus while working. Unfortunately, these materials are very expensive and our school is not equipped to provide these items for every student that needs them. It is for this reason that I have created this grant request for the 2018-2019 school year.
These stability balls will allow my students to move while working. Examples that I have seen are small bounces, shifting forward and back, and so on. In an inclusion classroom, it is vital that my students receive what they need to be successful. Most of the time, my students thrive when they are able to move and work at the same time. In my experience, this can be the difference between a student having a positive day at school and a negative one. That is why I feel it is so important to provide these stability balls for alternative seating in their classroom.
