Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom all come to school with unique experiences. They are energetic, interesting, loving, and caring. We work together in our classroom to develop a love of learning and make it a place of comfort and consistency.

As a teacher at a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, they love to learn and are eager for new experiences each day.

My Project

Kore Wobble Stools, Wobble Cushions, and exercise balls encourage active sitting. This increases focus and promotes better learning for students. Many of the students I work with are diagnosed with ADHD, or have difficulty being still, and simply think better in motion. Passive learning posture leads to decreased oxygen to the brain, and students do better when physical movement is possible while working. The equipment would be used daily, by a variety of students, and are durable enough to last for years.

The students I work with could often be categorized as "at-risk." The opportunity to learn and focus more could truly make a positive impact on their future success.

I am excited to see all students will be able to accomplish when they can move and learn at the same time!
