My students need flexible seating options such as wobble chairs, stools, and lap desks. Third grade is the first year that they endure state testing. I want them to feel comfortable as they begin to learn so many new things!
Every day, I come to school and welcome young, eager, and energetic students. Most of my students come to school to ready to learn and willing to listen.
Many students just want to be comfortable and feel safe in order to thrive.
I have been super lucky to work with a group of students who are excited about learning and are always willing to try new things. What worked in the past is not always what's best for the future!
My Project

I want students to feel like they have a choice in some situations. I feel like letting students have a choice in how they feel comfortable while they learn is a good start.
Flexible seating has many positives.
Not all students like to sit in a desk for 90 minutes at a time, I know I don't. I’m asking for stools to use at small group tables to allow them a choice between sitting in a stool or chair. I’m also asking for lap desks to use on the carpet if they so choose. I would love to transform my class into a safe and comfortable environment! If I can reach a student by just letting them sit on a stool or sitting on the carpet with a tray, then I'm winning!
