My Students

This year, I have 22 very energetic and kind hearted first graders. They always come into the classroom with big smiles and an eagerness to start our day. They are very enthusiastic about learning and most will be found with a book in their hand.

Our school is a rural school in central Oklahoma.

Many of the students at our school qualify for the free and/or reduced lunch program. We also have students who receive food through the backpack food program.

Providing our students with every possible resource that can enhance learning is our school's goal.

My Project

Children have an overabundance of energy, and that's a good thing! Having energy makes a classroom lively, entertaining, and enjoyable. However, some children cannot control their energy like others and it's up to their teachers and others around them to help provide resources to assist.

My lively and energetic students need these special stools to help maintain some of this energy.

These stools allow students the opportunity to move about without the risk of falling out of a chair. They are able to wiggle around while still listening to the teacher and working on their classwork. It is my goal to eventually replace my classroom chairs with these stools, as I feel they would greatly increase classroom participation and morale.
