Wiggle plus Wobble equals Mental Wellness

Help me give my students six Wobble Chairs, which are designed to allow movement when children are required to sit during instruction.

My Students

My students are energetic, loving, kind children from very diverse backgrounds and cultures.

My children want to succeed and providing them with classroom materials that meet their diverse needs, will give them the opportunity to thrive academically.

Our school has a high percentage of children who receive free or reduced-price lunches. We serve many children from the Lumi Tribe, and within my classroom, there is a wonderfully diverse culture that enriches our learning environment. My school has an awesome team of teachers who care deeply for our children and work together as a team!

My Project

Second graders have a difficult time sitting still. Ordinary chairs and stools force growing bodies into unnatural, static positions that are uncomfortable and don't help a child's posture. Kids can sit, wiggle, and fidget on this nifty chair while intuitively exercising their back muscles and working out their restless energy in comfort and support while learning. These chairs will help my ADD and ADHD children focus during instruction and seat work throughout the day.

Having wobble stools will allow my active students to move but stay focused on their learning.

This will allow them to focus during instruction and concentrate while doing seat work. Focused learning will allow them to develop learning strategies that will allow them to successfully complete assignments and assessments. Allowing active students controlled movement will help these students stay in their chairs, which will allow other students around them to stay focused on their learning.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
