Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful, creative and have tons of potential. However, many come from broken homes and are turn key students who have to let themselves in and often stay and watch younger siblings.

My children have big dreams that are often stifled or squashed by the stigma that society puts on impoverished children.

I want my children to know that an education is important, and that it can be fun, even when society tells them it is a waste of time.

My children have seen and experienced things that I can't even fathom as an adult, yet they still come to school to be loved and to learn. They still want to please their teacher and seek approval.

My Project

As you know most 7 and 8 year old students have lots of energy.

They need ways to expend that energy while learning that doesn't get them into trouble.

These wobble chairs will do just that. While it will give them a way to move and get their wiggles out while learning, it also builds core strength in their body. We have a set of these in the computer lab and my kiddos can't stop talking about how much they love them. Each time they return from the computer lab they tell me they wish we could get these wobble chairs. Please help us do this.
