As a Title 1 school we only have about 50 pairs of headphones for the entire school. Our school also has Chromebooks in each classroom and there are really good sites out there that read to the students, however, it is hard to hear when 20 children are listening to different stories. The headphones will allow students to choose a story and be able to listen without interruption. Using headphones is also a good way for students who are behind work on phonics instruction independently without being embarrassed or nervous about what others would think about them. Having our own sets of headphones would greatly benefit our listening center.
