"If a student can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." This quote speaks volumes to my small group of students! Our school serves students in grades K-12, with a wide range of learning abilities. The 17 with which I am entrusted range from grades 3-5.
My students don't learn the same way as their peers.
It is my job to reach them in any way possible, and that is what I aspire to do!
These stability balls will be used in a resource classroom as small group seating. The majority of my students have ADD/ADHD, and these balls have been shown to help these students focus by appealing to their need to move and wiggle, while also staying engaged in a small group lesson.
Every student benefits from movement!
Research has shown that movement and exercise has multiple cognitive benefits for both general education and special education students. Besides the benefits of movement, these chairs will also excite the students, making them more willing to work hard if they get to sit on them.
