Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I never saw myself as an actor. I really didn't. However, when you get the chance to stand in front of 30 bright-eyed students, you have to be. I sing, I dance and I have mastered the voices of many different cartoon animals. I understand the responsibility of a great first impression of the school. It warms my heart that such a simple gesture has become such an essential part of their school day.
I teach a bilingual classroom where all 30 of my students are English Language Learners.
My students love to read and are eager to solve problems every single day. The school I proudly work at serves a low-income population of primarily Hispanic students. Even with many hardships, my students always come in motivated and ready to learn!
My Project
We try to implement as much movement and dance as we can but remote learning requires a lot of sitting and being still. Please help me give my students some flexible seating in their homes! Many of my students do not have a place to sit an learn.
Flex-Space Wobble Cushions will allow students to have flexible seating anywhere in their homes.
Having the ability to move while they learn will improve their concentration. Students will also have a sensory outlet with the texture on the seats. I also would like the cuddly puppy to give my students some support with their anxiety. Too cute!
