My Students
Fifth graders are a special group. Not quite elementary students any more, but not quite yet middle schoolers, our students are passionate, loving, smart, and funny!
We are a small school on the coast of Maine.
Most of our students' families have been residents of our town their whole lives or are stationed in the Navy nearby in Kittery, Maine. Our school budget has been slashed more and more each year because of limited funding from the state.
We do the best we can for students, but sometimes that means not being able to purchase equipment and supplies we need for our classrooms.
My Project
My students LOVE wobble stools! Sitting on a wobble stool allows movement without distraction. These ergonomic stools are designed with a convex base, so students can move around while they are sitting down. This movement provides both physical and mental benefits to the students. We have many wobble stools in our building, but none in our classroom. I would like to start our flexible seating collection by having 6 stools available in our classroom.
Kids are not meant to sit still all day and these stools will allow them to move without distraction!
These wobble stools will also strengthen the core of students who use them. All of my students can benefit from being able to move around while they work.
