Kindergarten is always an adventure to teach. They are full of life, curiosity, and soak up all the learning that takes place around them. It can be difficult to keep a classroom full of five year olds engaged at all times, so I am constantly looking for different ways to present information to them in forms they will enjoy. We live in a rural Title I school district where the majority of students receive free and reduced-price lunches.
My goal is to pass my love for learning on to all of my students.
There is a wide range of learners in my classroom, including gifted students, students with physical and mental learning disabilities, students who receive Speech and Language services, and students who have their most positive experiences at school. All of my students are unique and learn differently. I believe it is important to provide new and different ways of learning in my classroom in order to reach every student. I also believe that all students should have the opportunity to experience the latest technology in order to develop 21st Century Skills.
My Project
Students love to learn when learning is fun! Being able to use a device and 'games' such as those made through Osmo really help the kids learn to love learning. My students love to use Osmo Numbers, and Osmo Words. I would love to expand these resources into a center of their own in my classroom. I would also love to provide my students with the coding game. Coding is a demand in today's society that students should be familiar with. I truly believe that we must start young when preparing littles for this technological world we live in. Along with this center, I would love to have the Learniture Active Learning Stools for my students. These allow students to be active while sitting. It makes them stronger while still allowing them to get their wiggles out!
