I am lucky enough to have an extremely diverse group of excited learners coming into my fourth-grade classroom. My students come from all different backgrounds and learn in several different ways. They are all happy to be at school and are ready to learn new things with their first year being in the upper grades.
My students are fantastic at exploring new ideas and finding new methods of learning.
I am so excited to be their teacher this year and see what they will accomplish.
My Project
Many students have a very difficult time staying still while learning and in that case, they quickly lose focus of the material that is being taught. I have picked out materials that will allow my students to continue to wiggle while remaining seated during a lesson. For many students, this ability to constantly move keeps them from daydreaming and focusing on other nonrelevant ideas. This will also help make learning more fun by showing students that they can move and explore all while gaining knowledge. These materials can also be used as a reward for good behavior. When students are doing well, they can choose what seating they would like for the day.
