My Students

This is a low income, high poverty school. I will be teaching about 75 students total. These are amazing kids who - many due to unfortunate circumstances - will not have many opportunities. A lot of them may have negative feelings about school which we want to change. My goal as their Science teacher is to open up their world, engage them and give them a love for science through hands-on experiences and showing them to take pride in their work.

Who knows where their futures may go if the right foundation is set!

My Project

We may not always be able to take our students on field trips for awesome experiences, BUT we can make learning come to life and engaging. Students learn best when they feel they are in control of their learning and doing something.

Who doesn't love the night sky?

I chose the Galaxy Elenco Science Tech talking galaxy planetarium, it projects constellations and narrates fun astrological facts. The students will be able to learn about the phases of the moon and stars! The other half of the order allows the students to work with circuits. They will get to draw them and see the results of what would happen.
