My Students
Hello all,
Last year, a student told me that he had never built a computer before and was interested in learning how to complete a build, but he had no way of getting the materials or knowledge of putting everything together.
He asked me to teach him because, earlier in the year, he discovered that he enjoyed the hobby of building custom computers. I immediately ran out to the nearest computer store, bought a motherboard, processor, and RAM. We stayed after school and built our first build.
This small desire transformed into an obsession. The one student turned into five students staying after school building and troubleshooting computers. My students would bring in their old personal computers and upgrade them, build office computers for their churches and family businesses, and attempt to resurrect old and broken computers.
There is an eagerness in their efforts to learn everything about computers and personal technology. They are excited about every hardware that they have the opportunity to put their hands on. They love analyzing and problem-solving each piece of technology. My goal this year is to push their exploration into computer technology further into, and I hope Donors Choose can help me fulfill my dream.
My Project
All of these items are industry capture repair tools. Items range from magnetic screwdrivers, static ground cables, and electrical meters. These items will help students prepare for the Part 1 & 2 of the CompTIA A+ Certification Exam.
These items will help students build and repair computers and gain practical, real-world experience that they can utilize for their CompTIA A+ Certification Exam.
Items like the voltmeter, thermal camera, and PCIe Express Test Card will allow students to diagnose and learn how different captures work in the computer. There are also items that will enable students to a level of comfort, such as static free repair mats. These are great items that will allow students to grow into expert computer repair technicians.
