{"monthlySchoolDonationEnabled":true,"callToActionDisplayName":"Waltrip High School","outOfStateSupporters":31.8,"allowSchoolLevelGiving":true,"hasFundedProjects":true,"projectGratitudeData":[{"teacherId":10063922,"projectId":9433471,"letterContent":"As we near the end of this school year, I return to DonorsChoose with immense gratitude for the success of my first grant request for a set of \"Deep Work\" books to use with my AP Seminar, AP Research, AP Psychology, and AP African American Studies students from earlier in the year. \r\n\r\nThat set of books helped enormously with my students' abilities to identify elements of an argument (claim, evidence, and warrant), learn how to focus deeply, and work productively. \r\n\r\nI'm pairing their reading of that text with Chris Hayes' critique of the commodification of attention in \"The Siren's Call\" as part of my classroom final exams this spring.\r\n\r\nI'm dreaming big with the possibilities for transforming my research instruction for next year to make much of our work more analog, both to follow trends in education with schools and districts that are returning to more physical notebook and handwriting, and less screen/laptop work, and to develop more robust thinking skills in organizing and doing research. \r\n\r\nBut, I may need more help from the Donors Choose community to bring those dreams to life, as our Title I school under Mike Miles and HISD has suffered additional budget cuts since my initial request for help with the class set of Deep Work. \r\n\r\nThank you all for seeing the vision, and for supporting teachers and students as we continue to learn how to do our best, and deepest, work.","fullyFundedDate":1754258584897,"projectUrl":"project/class-set-deep-work/9433471/","projectTitle":"Class Set: Deep Work!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Gray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10063922_orig.jpg?crop=2926,2926,x0,y185&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777659385486","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10063922"},{"teacherId":6627252,"projectId":9863307,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for giving to my classroom. My students really enjoyed using thier new art supplies. We did portraits for Black History Month, neurographic art, self-portraits, landscapes, as well as many other projects.\r\nWith your help, many students who do not have access to these supplies at home, were able to create beautiful works of art.
