Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar?

Help me give my students a fun crime scene as they study forensic science and try to solve the mystery.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teachers are always looking for ways to keep students engaged while applying concepts leaned in the classroom into real world application. My students have recently expressed an interest in forensic science. I began introducing students to court cases that had contradicting evidence, and students have learned to argue respectfully as they stand by their claims with evidence and reasoning.

I want to introduce students to a simulated crime scene while having them use the evidence and critical thinking skills to find the culprit.

Students will learn about fingerprint analysis, microscope basics, and other vital skills to match the evidence to the person who committed crime: Who sold the cookie from the cookie jar?
