Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is no secret that learning needs to be fun, meaningful, and engaging to our young learners! Many times, academics are in competition with technology, TV screens, and other technological devices and applications. Our learners want to be consistently entertained almost every second of the day, including at school. If learning is not fun, meaningful, or engaging, students tend to zone out, act out, or not care about the task at hand.

I want to make learning personal and interactive for each of my students.

Although they can be used as a resource, traditional textbooks and flashcards do not tend to captivate our students' interest.

The inflatable beach balls will be used for activities such as sight word, CVC (consonant vowel consonant), CVCE (consonant vowel consonant silent e), math, and additional literacy phonemic awareness games. The Sight Word Game will be utilized to help make learning sights more fun for my students. The variety of chapter books will be displayed in our classroom library for my more advanced readers interested in chapter books. The sunglasses will be used for outdoor reading days. The snacks will be provided to each of my students to help refuel their energy to continue learning throughout the day.
