I have been very fortunate to teach at my current school for the past twelve years. I teach in a very small, rural community. Many of my students come from low-income homes.
Although these students don't always have the best, they are sure to bring their best.
Our students come to school with a smile on their faces and an eagerness to learn as much as possible. Our students are willing to work hard and are always showing their dedication to learning.
My Project
I am requesting a class set of Storyworks magazines, from Scholastic, for my upcoming class. Storyworks is an exciting and engaging 32 page magazine that is jammed pack with current news in science, social studies, math, technology,
Each student will receive six issues, of 32 pages, nonfiction, fiction, debates, and more that provide compelling texts that support science, math, technology, and social studies standards.
With the subscription we would also have online access to additional resources that relate to the magazine contents. Students would be able to explore and learn even more about the topics. Storyworks also provides teachers with higher-level questions, whole-class, and small-group ideas to fit the needs of all students. Storyworks is also differentiated to help all learners learn with engaging and exciting learning activities.
