Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come to my STEAM classroom with great ideas to explore with the materials of art. As part of our Ethnic Studies Identity project, my students will create a 2D representation of who they are.
This 2D art project will include their culture, their interests, their families as well as their love of color and using different materials such as water color, tempera, pencils and markers.
As they grow their art skills, they also grow in self awareness. This helps build confidence in who they are and allows them to flourish in school and in their communities.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
