This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Special Education is about creating different ways to help students learn and grow. Most of my students have difficulty showing that they understand the material through traditional means (quizzes/ tests). Because of this, I like to provide other ways for them to show that they understand the different concepts and topics we learn.
Having a mobile whiteboard and poster supplies are two mediums that will allow students the freedom to create their projects to show me what they comprehend using learning styles that make sense to them.
When students are encouraged to explore ways that make them feel empowered and have autonomy in their learning, they do better and that confidence extends to every aspect of their life, not just in a specific class.
