Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Remember how amazing your library was when you were a kid? I know I do. It was so exciting to read in the tree house of our school library! My students are largely from a rural area and more than 3/4 come from low income families. Many of my students don't have a special place they can sit and read a good book. I know they will appreciate it because they are such polite, eager, and respectful young learners.
I just know students will love our reading corner so much other teachers will want to take advantage of this space as well!
My Project
I am a PE teacher. I have intervention time in a classroom with my 1st period students. Most of my students love PE, but if I’m being honest, intervention time may not be our favorite part of the day. Sometimes students get tired of the same routines and regime of the class.
The materials I’ve requested will help create a learning environment that my students and I have only dreamed about.
Ever notice how amazing the libraries are in elementary? I used to love going to the library to read in the tree house at my school when I was a kid. I can't describe how wonderful it would be to create a space that will get my students (and me) excited about reading. By donating you will be encouraging life-long readers, and of course, that means life long learners. You just might inspire a passion for reading to last a lifetime. Thank you for helping my dream become a reality for my students and I.
