See what Mrs. Kan is requestingMy students need binders, folders, sheet protectors, and pencils to keep their homework organized.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I choose to teach in NY because I want to make a difference in the lives of children, especially those in need. My students have a great thirst for knowledge. They especially love to read books. My goal is to not only teach them how to read but how to understand and comprehend what they read.
My school is lucky enough to have the freedom to be able to try new techniques and strategies that we think will really help our students make academic gains.
In getting used to all the new things of second grade, my students are also learning how to become organized. In school they each have a color coordinated folder for the different subjects in school. They are really improving in their ability to keep all their papers neat and organized while also putting them in the proper place. The problem is when students go home, they do not have that same organization. Their homework folders are messy, they have trouble finding their work, and parents do not receive important information.
I want to teach my students how to continue the organization they have learned in school by using a FROG binder to keep all of their important information. FROG stands for Forming Really Organized Guys/Girls. Each 1 1/2" binder will contain about 10 sheet protectors for the important papers from school such as the school calendar, contact information, parent communication log, homework calendars, spelling lists, etc. The binders will also contain a snap in poly 2-pocket folder. Students will now be able to sort their papers into "stay at home" and "return to school". Finally, the binders will contain a pencil pouch which will have pencils, dry erase markers, and erasers so they will always be prepared to complete their work.
The donation of these FROG binder materials will change the lives of my students.
Through use of each of these binders my students will learn how to become organized and keep their things neat. Use of this binder will also help parents stay informed about what is going on in our classroom. Please help my students continue to thrive and learn!
