My Project

Going into my thirteenth year in the classroom, I have seen first-hand how important it is to have a calm and organized space that is accessible to all students. When students have space and structure, it enables them to devote all of their time and attention to learning. My students are enthusiastic about collaborating and growing as readers, mathematicians, scientists and more!

A classroom rug with designated seating spaces creates a welcoming and organized environment where eager first graders can gather, focus, and engage in whole-group and small-group learning across all subject areas.

The clear visual boundaries help young learners understand personal space and classroom routines, promoting a sense of belonging and structure. Paired with accessible shelving to store small group materials—like books, differentiated literacy games, math manipulatives, sensory bins, and literacy tools—these resources support seamless transitions and targeted instruction. Together, the rug, chart paper, and shelving foster a dynamic learning space where students can explore, collaborate, and grow every day.
