This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach World History and my students are very interested and enthusiastic. They love to hear and read about other cultures and empires in ancient times. My district is poor with many non English speaking students. When they read or see a video about the history of the world, new ideas and questions start spinning in their heads. They want to know where these adventures took place and want to understand how the world changed over time. It isn't hard to keep their interest with all the discussions we have about world history. They want to know more and more. Many are confused about the changing locations of the different empires and events in ancient history.

With your help I can give them visuals and information about the ancient times that affected our life today.

My Project

This year my students will explore the locations and changing borders of ancient empires and countries. The best way to do this is to have a visual example by using an atlas. An atlas will show the geography as well as borders of the lands we learn about in my world history class. Regular atlases do not have this information. From the Roman Empire to World War II, my students will recognize where and when these events took place. Please consider helping me help my students.

My students need Nystrom's Atlas of World History to identify various cultures/locations that we learn throughout the year.
