Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, energetic, and incredibly creative learners who thrive when they are able to actively engage with science instead of simply reading about it. I teach biology, and many of my students learn best through hands-on activities, collaboration, and visual projects that allow them to connect scientific concepts to the real world. I love watching students who may be hesitant during lectures suddenly light up when they get the opportunity to create, design, and explain their thinking in a more interactive way.

The materials in this project will help transform our classroom into a more engaging and student-centered learning environment.

Supplies like markers, crayons, colored paper, and poster boards will allow students to create models, diagrams, presentations, review projects, and collaborative activities that deepen their understanding of science concepts. These resources will support everything from cell and body system projects to ecology presentations and interactive review activities.

Many students take greater ownership of their learning when they are given opportunities to be creative, and these supplies will help make science more accessible, memorable, and fun for all learners.
