Where is My Lesson Plan? Please, Help Us Get Organized!
My students need personal cubbies for their work, storage containers for their books, a laminating machine to help preserve their work and art/PE/math/health resources.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Where is my lesson plan?! Help me be an organized second year teacher! We know that an organized classroom and an organized teacher provide structure and balance in the classroom for all learners. In addition, an organized classroom reflects a well-prepared and organized educational program.
My students are second graders at a public city school.
They have open minds and are willing to learn. I have a larger number of students performing at grade level as well as a group of students that need individual attention. With a structured and organized classroom environment where materials and resources are accessible, my students can focus on instruction rather than trying to locate resources and material. My students deserve the best and my goal is to provide a classroom environment that is both welcoming and enriching for all of my students.
My Project
My students need personal cubbies for their work, storage containers for their books, a laminating machine to help preserve their work and art/PE/math/health resources. With these organizational materials, my students will not only learn in an organized classroom but will also learn lifelong skills such as organization and preparedness.
My students will greatly benefit from these resources because they will make learning materials more accessible to them. I am requesting cubbies for our classroom library and individual cubbies for homework and classwork. In addition, our district is putting a large emphasis on Writers Workshop, and it would be ideal to have a cart to store all of the paper choices my students need to complete their writing assignments. My students will also greatly benefit from the art supplies, PE equipment and math and health resources which provide a hands-on approach to learning. Lastly, the laminating machine will be most useful to protect and preserve all student work and projects. My students will have the opportunity to build a sense of community in a well-organized and orderly classroom.
I had a mentor teacher tell me that organization is a skill that is learned.
She told me that if a teacher is organized, the students will model that skill. She was right. I strongly believe that an organized classroom elicits an organized teacher which then promotes an organized and structured learning environment. Since organization is a skill that is learned, I want to set that example for my students. Please help me, as a second year teacher, make my dream of a well-organized classroom a reality for my students.
