My students are second graders at a public city school. They have open minds and are willing to learn. My students vary in academic levels. I have a small group of high achievers that will need to be challenged using these materials. I have a larger number of students performing at grade level. These students will benefit from practice, using these Common Core materials. And finally, I have a large group of students that need individual attention to enhance their learning and solidify basic language arts skills. My school is improving their aptitude scores and I want my students to be able to score proficient or higher. My students enjoy being read to and want to gain strong reading skills so they too can read the books of their choice. My students are ready to learn!
