Have you ever wondered where you were or exactly how you fit in to this planet called Earth? I want my students to understand what a wonderful place this world is, and that there are many different places and people in the world, by using the new globes and maps from this project.
I have 23 students.
Boys out number the girls by one. Our school is considered "Title 1" and is home to about 500 students. We have a great class! They are very outgoing, talkative, caring, and eager to learn. They love asking questions about anything and everything, so we do a lot of research!
My Project
My students live in a town of about 2,500 people which is just a small portion of our county, state, country, continent and world. I want them to see the bigger picture of how unique the Earth is. My students will be able to look up places in relation to our small town. They will learn that they have a place in the world and can do big things with their lives. I hope to inspire the curiosity of what other countries are like so that they can travel to them one day! They will be able to learn where certain countries/continents are located thanks to our new maps and globe.
My students need to know that the way we live isn't the way everyone else lives.
I want them to see a concrete picture of different places when we are talking about them. I want them to be able to explore the maps and ask questions. Thank you ahead of time for you kind generosity in helping my students in finding a place in the world!
