Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In second and third grade, students begin to learn the 50 states. We practice reciting the names in alphabetical order. By the end of third grade, students can name all 50 states in alphabetical order in under 30 seconds. The dry erase maps will allow my students to practice not only the names of the states, but identifying where the states are located.

The dry erase maps and sliding number lines are manipulatives that aren't consumable and will serve not only second and third grade students this year, but for many years to come.

Knowing the names of our 50 states and their location in the USA is a real-world skill that will benefit my students beyond the general education classroom.
