Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second graders are excited to learn! Each day that I greet them, they are smiling and excited about the new day of learning. Unfortunately, over 80% of our school population lives at or below the poverty level. Working in an inner city can have some challenges.
Although we receive some money for supplies, it's never enough to purchase some of the necessary materials we need to give them hands on, individualized learning experiences.
These eager students deserve to have all of the proper materials they need to learn and grow.
My Project
It's that time of year again... the markers are dry, the folders and nametags are torn, the glue is all used up and the paper bins are low. We need more supplies!
We need to replace many items that have been used up or have not stood up to the test of 8 year olds!
My class uses dry erase markers every day for all subjects. We need more to get through the year. We need to replace many of the folders that we organize our papers in our desks with. We also would like to replace the desk nameplates. We are running low on construction paper and glue sticks. Do they eat the glue sticks? We have laminated many math center games and need more laminating sheets. We need more index cards to make take home reading flashcards. The list goes on and on. Please help us to replenish our materials to finish the year in the best way we can.
