Bozhoo! That is how you say hello in Ojibwe. I teach first-grade students in a school that is located on a Native American reservation. Most of my students come from generational poverty, which can bring trauma. Every year, I do my best to create a classroom family where each child feels safe, successful, and loved.
My students start each day eager to learn, create, and explore.
My job, as their teacher, is to help each child reach their full potential. I do my best to find engaging lessons that will help them grow personally and academically, so that they can develop a better understanding of the world around them.
My Project
The first graders at our school are in need of new outdoor equipment and an equipment cart to store their recess toys in.
First graders need play in their lives!
The equipment cart will be the perfect size for five first grade classes. The bottom bin will store kickballs, soccer balls, and footballs. The top compartments will be used to store frisbees, our new beanbags, and jump ropes. The side of the cart has a place for us to store our new hula hoops.
We are also asking for 6 new balls that will be used to play with the parachute we are requesting.
