Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are goofy, silly, funny, emotional, frustrated, energetic, impulsive, and craving someone to care about them. My classroom consists of ten students with special needs and fifteen students of mixed English Language Learners and general education students. This makes it difficult to meet the various needs of the students in my classroom.

I do my very best to make each child feel special and assure them they can do it.

My school has a huge population of low socioeconomic students, as well as children in shelters. It would be great to give these students a chance and an opportunity to meet their optimal potential.

My Project

This is the hardest time for both teachers and students. All we want is for our students to feel cared about and connected to us. This is beyond challenging through a computer. Having a Fort Builder will bring my students and I into our own world all together. Using the magnet to show items in our fort that are and are not magnetic add another layer of STEM. My students will tell me what to do with each piece, how to design it and guide me in connecting each piece the way they want it. My students will decide what type of home or fort it is and imagine where we all are.

Giving our students a sense of being part of something, a feeling of connecting and being supported is essential right now.
