Help me give my students a flexible seating classroom. The children's classroom will give the students a great choice in their flexible seating options.

My Students

My students are one of a kind. We come from a very small and remote town. The nearest town is at-least 60 miles away. Covid had a huge impact on our students. In 2020, we had to shut down schools and send the students home. Getting internet can be very difficult here. So online learning became a challenge. Winds and storms knocked out the Wifi constantly. This made it very difficult to do online learning. This impacted our students greatly. Students returned to school very far behind. It has been a trial every since to get students back on grade level.

My Project

My students have been greatly affected by COVID-19. When they are pulled out of school because of a positive COVID test, they fall behind their peers. In order to get in front of this, I have started Modern Classroom. This is a self-paced design. Students work at their own pace to show mastery in the subject they are working on. They watch videos I have created to show them how to do the skill. They then do IXL and a practice worksheet. When they are done, they do a mastery check. If they master it, they move on. This has helped students progress so much further than a normal classroom with a lecture at the beginning.

Since students work at their own pace it would be very beneficial for flexible seating.

Students who have a choice in seating are more likely to come to class ready to learn and succeed.
