Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After the pandemic, social emotional referrals increased by fifty percent. Every day, we see an increasing need to support students with their feelings, emotions, and trauma. As a school, we work hard to develop the tools to support students with building positive relationships with peers or adults. Teachers need resources to help develop a system of support for their students along the academic work school wide. Implementing a positive culture of sharing feelings, developing empathy, and strengthening other values will improve the conditions for learning to take place.

My goal with these tools are to create a space for teachers and students to build community, support daily SEL lessons with tools and incentives and as a result, decrease the amount of discipline referrals school wide.
