Ms. Johnson from Decatur GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an iPad, as an additional way for us to connect and communicate. An iPad would also assist with college and career development, as well as in using apps, for them.

During morning duty, I meet and greet all of the students that enter the building. We have over 200 students who enter on this side of the building, and I am trying to keep up with about 20 pieces of paper, with notes on them. Counseling through technology would be greatly appreciated!!
I am the School Counselor, at a school that is located in South Dekalb county, Georgia.
We have approximately 600 students PK - 5th grade. I am charged with servicing all of my students, with their very specific needs. It is hard for me to see all of my students, but I want to make sure that I am assisting them with balancing social, emotional, and academics concerns. I would love to set up minute meetings with my students first thing in the morning, as they are coming into the building, or even into the hallways, as I see them. These meetings will be impromptu, and assist me with building a rapport with the students, and with "checking in" with them to get their day started off right.
Having an iPad would allow me to record quick notes about each student that I meet with, schedule counseling sessions and meetings with parents and teachers, and take pictures of student activities that we complete. There are character building apps and relaxation apps that would benefit our students as well.
Introducing an iPad to our counseling center, would greatly improve our communication and our ability to reach other technology, to help us help the students.
I am excited about the possibility of being able to touch each student in my school with the help of technology.
